Sustainable Procurement
In 2012 BSA have launched a new trading division to reflect the growing demand from clients to become more sustainable in their operations. Procurement has a critical role to play in greening organisations and their supply chains and yet we saw a lack of specialist support in the market place. So we built a small team of sustainable procurement experts and put together the following three support services:
- GreenBuying.co.uk ("Eco Shop") - this is our new online shop which sells many hundreds of eco friendly office supplies (e.g. recycled stationery, recycling bins, non toxic cleaning supplies, low energy lighting, etc) to businesses and individual consumers. Existing BSA Clients enjoy a 5% discount off all prices, excluding shipping costs.
- Sustainable Procurement Audit & Consultancy - we've always offered a general audit and review of procurement functions from a value for money and governance perspective, but we've now added a green procurement audit to our suite of support services. The audit is structured following the new British Standard BS8903 (one of our team was on the technical committee that developed this Standard). It offers your organisation the opportunity to review where it stands in relation to Sustainable Procurement, and offers guidance for managed change.
- Sustainable Procurement Training Workshop (1 day) - following on from the sustainable procurement audit, we've now developed a training day which also follows the BS8903 British Standard in Sustainable Procurement. Please call us for more details.
