BSA Consortium FAQsOur joining fee is normally £495 + VAT, but this fee is waived thanks to your membership of MTA.
We earn a small fee from the suppliers but importantly are not tied to any one provider, thus we are independent. The competing suppliers (two per category) are chosen after thorough audits and only remain partners by demonstrating ongoing value and service excellence. They are all capable of delivering throughout the UK. Ultimately it is your choice whether you wish to be supplied by a particular service provider.
Once we've analysed your current prices and reported back the percentage savings to be gained by switching suppliers, we recommend that the supplier with the best value offer visits you so that you can be reassured that they are the right supplier for you. Only after that do you decide whether to join the BSA Consortium and start placing orders. It's your choice, there are no obligations at any stage.
Ultimately we recognise that you will only stay if you receive significant initial cost savings and ongoing value. We are confident that you will enjoy these benefits, so much so that we won't lock you into the BSA Consortium. You are free to leave at anytime without penalty charges.
The first step is the only step where you actively need to do something!
Simply photocopy or scan your latest 3 months invoices for those categories that you want us to review and which you are happy to switch supplier as long as we can prove significant cost savings. Then post or email these to us (or alternatively we can arrange a convenient time for the documents to be picked up by special courier to ensure your information is kept secure - thus you don't need to worry about postal charges).
We may then call you to obtain more detailed specification information and to establish your annual spend per category, typical delivery quantities/ frequencies, stock levels and any additional service benefits that you may currently receive. This is so we have a level playing field when comparing prices and value.
Within 7 to 10 days, once the suppliers have competed for your business through a blind bidding process, we report back to you the value (price/service) improvements that you will achieve by joining the BSA Consortium. If you like our results, we then recommend that the supplier visits you, to ensure you are comfortable with them as a supplier. If you like them as a supplier, on joining the BSA Consortium you can start ordering from them to achieve the savings, and we then start monitoring their service levels and feeding back to you for as long as your company is a Member. We also seek ongoing feedback from you on the quality of supplier service.
